Welcome to Elk Point Lodge!
Clam Lake, Wisconsin

Elk Point Lodge in Clam Lake, Wisconsin is a 5 bedroom, 3 bath log home located on a secluded 16 acre peninsula and semi-private lake only 30 miles from Hayward, Wisconsin.

Tucked away in the middle of the Chequamegon National Forest is the delightful community of Clam Lake. Majestic pines, cluster birch, and a quiet lake provide the backdrop for our beautiful hand-hewn log home. This is a truly unique vacation home and lakefront property!

Our home is situated on a 16 acre peninsula, surrounded by water on delightful Beaver Lake, a small refuge for waterfowl and wildlife. There is only one other property on the lake so privacy is yours. Rustic but not primitive, this home has five bedrooms (including a loft), and three bathrooms. It comfortably sleeps ten in beds.

The main floor has a large, well-equipped professional kitchen with Viking stainless dishwasher, range, and refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen is stocked with enough cookware, appliances and utensils for even the most discriminating gourmet cook. A sunny eating area with its handmade rustic pine plank table seats ten or more, and looks out over the deck and lake beyond.

The great room has a large fieldstone fireplace, a large over-stuffed leather sofa and satellite TV with a DVD player. Windows facing the lake extend two stories for fabulous views of the lake and surrounding woods. Old Hickory and antique furniture is inter-mixed with comfortable seating throughout the first floor. Off of the great room is a sunny all season porch facing the lake with two story windows on three sides. It is truly a spectacular room and a favorite of our guests. The main floor has 2 charming bedrooms, one with a bunk bed, and the other a double. Both rooms are furnished with handmade log furniture and wool throw rugs.

Out the back door is a deck, which is a nice spot for viewing the lake while sipping morning coffee or an evening drink. It’s also a great place for enjoying lunch. The deck extends around the west end of the house and is great for sunbathing.

Upstairs there is a master suite loft with a king bed, en suite bath with a double shower, sitting area and deck over looking the lake. Again, the furniture is rustic Old Hickory, and leather with unique accents and rugs. This is a retreat in itself. Downstairs there are two knotty pine bedrooms warmly decorated with a Northwoods theme and handmade beds. They share a newly finished full bathroom. The downstairs is also home to our large game room with a pool table, game table, electronic darts and pinball machine. We also have a large collection of children’s toys and games. The laundry area is in the basement as well.

The natural beauty of the woods can be enjoyed inside or out. The lake can be enjoyed by non-motorized watercraft. A large wetland at the opposite end of the lake is a summer breeding ground for many waterfowl including wood ducks, sandhill cranes, Canada geese and even bald eagles. The entire house is surrounded by extensive gardens that bloom into fall. Several trails are cut through the property for a short walk or simply walk down to the forest road for a quiet stroll through the woods. Across the lake is a snowmobile and ATV trail that hooks up to literally hundreds of miles of trails through the wilderness. The surrounding area is filled with year round outdoor activities. At the end of the day, you can return to the peace and solitude of Beaver Lake… or simply never leave!
